Overview
This policy explains how DRC TRACTORS arranges collection and delivery of the tractors, implements, containers, generators, forklifts, trailers and spare parts you buy from drctractors.co.za. Because many of our products are large and heavy, delivery is arranged individually and confirmed with you before you pay. We deliver within South Africa and to other African countries.
Collection from our premises
Please contact us first to book a collection time, so that your goods are ready and we can load them safely. Bring a valid ID and your order or invoice number. For large machines, make sure you arrive with a suitable truck, trailer or transporter and the correct loading equipment.
Where we deliver
We deliver across South Africa and to other African countries. Smaller items such as spare parts are usually sent by courier. Tractors, implements, containers, generators and other heavy equipment are moved by road transport, and for some destinations by sea freight or a combination of road and sea, using transport companies we arrange for you.
If you are in another African country, contact us with your country and delivery address and we will confirm that we can deliver there and give you a quote.
Delivery costs
Delivery costs depend on the size and weight of the goods, the distance, the destination country and the type of transport needed. Delivery costs are not included in the product price unless we say so.
We confirm the delivery cost in your quote or before you pay, so you know the full cost upfront. Please ask us for a delivery quote before you place an order.
Delivery time frames
We start arranging delivery once we have confirmed your order and received your payment. The time frames below are estimates, counted in business days or weeks from that point, and we confirm the expected time for your order when we confirm it.
- Spare parts and small items within South Africa: usually 3 to 7 business days by courier.
- Tractors, implements, containers, generators and other heavy equipment within South Africa: usually 7 to 14 business days, depending on the distance and transport available.
- Other African countries: usually 3 to 8 weeks, depending on the destination, the route, border or port clearance and the transport used.
These times are estimates and not guarantees. Deliveries may take longer during public holidays, peak seasons, in bad weather, or when roads, ports, borders, courier services or other factors outside our control cause delays. We will keep you informed if your delivery is delayed.
Delivery to other African countries
When we deliver outside South Africa, please note:
- Full payment first: international orders are dispatched only after we have received full payment, including the agreed delivery cost.
- Customs duties and taxes: import duties, VAT, port charges and other taxes in the destination country are not included in our prices and are your responsibility, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Import rules and permits: you are responsible for finding out about, and meeting, the import rules of your country, including any permits or licences needed for used machinery. Please check these before you order.
- Documents: we supply the commercial invoice and the export documents we are responsible for. Please give us the correct consignee details and any documents your customs authority requires.
- Clearance and collection: someone must be available to clear the goods through customs and receive them at the agreed delivery point. Storage or demurrage charges caused by delays on your side are for your account.
- Insurance: we recommend insuring goods in transit. Ask us to include transit insurance in your quote.
Delivery of heavy equipment
When we deliver heavy goods such as tractors, containers, generators or forklifts, please make sure that:
- the delivery address is accessible to a large truck, with enough space to turn and offload;
- the ground is firm and level where the goods will be placed;
- suitable offloading equipment, such as a crane, forklift or loader, is available at your site, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing; and
- someone is available to receive the goods and sign for them.
If the driver cannot offload because of poor access or missing equipment, extra costs for waiting time or a second delivery may apply.
Receiving your goods
Please inspect your goods as soon as they arrive, before the driver leaves if possible. If you see any damage or missing items, note it on the delivery note, take photos, and contact us as soon as possible so we can deal with the transport company. Reporting problems quickly protects your rights and helps us resolve them.
Please also check your goods against your order or invoice. If something is wrong, see our Return & Refund Policy.
Risk and ownership
The risk of loss or damage to the goods passes to you when they are delivered to your address, or when you or your transporter collect them from us. For deliveries to other countries, risk passes to you at the point we agree with you in writing, for example when the goods are handed to the carrier or arrive at the destination port or border. Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received full payment.
Incorrect or incomplete addresses
Please check that the delivery address and contact details you give us are correct and complete. If a delivery fails or has to be redirected because of wrong details or because nobody was available to receive the goods, we may charge you for the extra transport costs.
